I have never looked forward to the release of an audiobook more than this. I thought it was going to be the best book so far. Thought it would have the most fighting of all the books. Instead it had the least fighting of any book. Constant deus ex machina derailing every battle before it has a chance to start. That happening once or twice is a nice twist but the whole book was just one battle or another being circumvented by some frustrating twist. There was hardly any of what makes the DCC books so good in this book. Felt like a cop out. All the fighting took place outside the direct narrative while Carl just shouted at people through chat trying to micromanage all the not fighting.
