The entire novel is about the protag just telling lies, and the narrator building up how it’s going to come crumbling down. After 8+ hours of it, YES WE GET IT. He lies a lot and does not embrace reality. It’s not subtle, and it was so tiresome I couldn’t be bothered to finish the novel.

The audiobook performers are stellar. There’s even a soundtrack stuck in with effects, making it feel more akin to a performance than a normal narration, which I haven’t heard in a while.

But the story itself is so beyond tiresome, it isn’t worth it.
