I usually don’t enjoy storylines where everything bad constantly happens to the main character, and this one really leaned into that. The performance by Jeff and the rest of the cast is what kept me listening — they did an outstanding job bringing the story to life. I might continue with the next book, but honestly, that’s only because of Jeff’s narration. The plot itself became frustrating at times; it felt like the main character kept making poor decisions and was being dragged further and further down just for the sake of it. It reached a point where I found myself wanting to skip ahead to when things finally turned around — but they never really did.
