Overall the story is pretty good, this is my 5th litRPG series and it hits all the earmarks of a progression type story, overpowered MC, stat and magic system, monster surges, high stakes action, yada yada yada. I liked that the stat dump wasn’t constant as in other series like TPH, HWFWM, ATC, DCC, etc. there’s a medium amount. The mimic steals the show, Jeff Hayes is a legend and the Soundbooth cast does a great job. The females all have the same helium high voice which can get a bit pitchy, but it’s all good.
My only issue is the super GREEN MC lol he’s overpowered but completely opposite than the typical narcissistic sociopathic/psychopathic head cases from some other litRPGs. He is legit naive as all get out. Thrown in the deep end, completely out of his depth of understanding of the world around him in a lot of ways (but gets things conceptually just can’t fully wrap his head around the big picture) Almost too green? Since this is book one there’s lots of room for character growth so hopefully his experiences will make or break him, or a little of both. But he’s likable, I’ll give him that. Total teddy bear… with a monster fused to his body always wanting the nom noms lol 😆
