This book is both too long on the story line that has me wondering “what is the plot’ (which is basically the whole book) and not enough of world building and even have me attach to any of the characters. It shouldn’t have to take me til 3 chapters near the END of the book for me to not be confused as to what am I supposed to get out of this. It was difficult for me to connect to any of the protagonist characters, and their character archs did not redeem them. I found myself getting bored and annoyed a large majority of the time and had to listen to it at 2.3 speed for it to even feel tolerable. This style was not for me.
