Love the story, can’t stand the narrator

Let me start out by saying that this is one of my favorite books. I love the story and have read it multiple times. However, the audiobook is a DNF for me.

Look, I know a lot of people love Joel Leslie. I appreciate how he does different voices for the different characters but the accents he does for Jonas and Dean are just over the top. EVERYTHING is read in an urgent tone like the world is going to end at any moment. I’ve tried a couple of his other narrations and I just can’t do it.

I am very disappointed that the narrator makes it impossible for me to enjoy the story that I enjoy so much.
