That’s the first 2 hours of the book. Over and over Mallory insists she’s fine (no she’s not–she’s a fragile flower who can’t get over something that happened 10 years ago) and her friend/boss says she’s not fine and puts her on leave. She goes home and then is an immature wretch to her mother, which is normal. Every time she goes home she only lasts a few days. So far in Helen’s part, Mallory is narrated as always having a *itchy tone of voice. She just can’t get over her past. 3 hours in, I’m hate reading. I think I’ll quit now.
