Oh my goodness this was SUCH a great story! I love a best friends to lovers trope, but Kate Stewart just sprinkles the best kind of magic into her books! Theo is your quiet, kind of nerdy, but super hot band geek and Lainey is the typical southern girl firecracker that every guy wants.
An unlikely friendship buds between the two of them and the learn so much about life and each other along the way. This was a sweet, coming of age feeling story as the main characters are in college and are about to embark on the next phases of their lives, but it didn’t feel tired.
The relationship between Theo and Lainey is so fun. She forces him out of his comfort zone and he helps to reign her in (in a good way) without killing her spirit. They are total opposites and exactly what each other needs.
The slow burn built up for what felt like forever, but once it ignited, it was MAGICAL.
