What can I say? I’ve been listening to Franklin Horton for about 10 plus years. I finally decided to reinvest into the box set. these first three books are my favorite. I love the interplay between the main characters. Jim, Randy, Lloyd, Gary, Ellen, Pete, and of course Ariel. I love the way that he tosses the salad of local history, natural geological features, with descriptive adjectives, he also blends in the history of the characters and their ancestors. The action is not too graphic but still leaves you with a visceral flavor of violence.
