Okay, so I’m probably going to be trolled but a review is a review so to quote Carl, “You will not break me.”

First off let me start by saying I love the writing style and I really enjoy the back and forth banter between Donut and Carl. the way this book was written and the way was narrated make this series really REALLY enjoyable to listen to! Having said that, I only have one real gripe about the series and it may just be my personal preference. I feel like the author has done a really good job painting a picture of how intricate The Dungeon Crawl is and how much is involved on a grander scale. I think for me there’s too much. I’m listening and enjoying it but a lot of times I often feel like I’m not sure exactly what’s going on or how they got there even though I understand the progression through the floors of the dungeon. And then when I start to understand the add a new element in that makes me feel like wait “What?!? Well whatever I’m still enjoying it.” the first book was my absolute favorite only because it was simple. the invasion happened, the dungeon appeared, and there was a walk-through with a little bit of complexity. after that the books just got so complex that I oftentimes don’t understand the intricate interworkings of the story and I just have to rely on that I Know Carl and Donut are just making their way through the dungeon and leveling up.

I think the story would be just as great and just as enjoyable to listen to without as much complexity. that’s my only gripe.
