I tried to hang with the story, made it 16 hours in but I just can’t do it any longer. the storyline itself is just so so, typical apocalyptic storyline. I couldn’t get into any of the characters and their antics are just beyond the even fictional reason. a teenage girl with no special training besting to full grown men not once but four times before finally killing them both, then taking on another man and losing him twice before killing him. her father who has now gotten out of five different fatal situations. I could go on but why bother. maybe I could hang with the story but for the narration, this narrator’s tone inflection is nothing short of annoying. I appreciate his attempt to insert feeling into the situation but his tone inflection never fits the situation and he has this bother some way of wilting his voice that I just can’t hang with I’m at the point now where I will no longer purchase books if he’s narrating. some of the books that he has read for have been relatively decent books that he has ruined simply because his speech pattern is distracting and disingenuous.
