The narration is great, as expected from Soundbooth, which seriously props to the narration team. I love them so much. The book is amazing. Who would have thought brutally murdering and maiming people would have sold as a book series? It’s dark, but the humor balances out, though I am mildly concerned for my sanity as I kind of can’t separate the fact that both Kara and Boxxy are the same person. Like, it just doesn’t compute in my head, you know? I refuse to believe it emotionally, even though I know it rationally. The cognitive dissonance required for that is immense, but hey, I guess there’s a reason it shows this particular disguise, and the narration only makes it worse. If it were written, you could do some tricks with your imagination to introduce elements of the Uncanny Valley or whatever. Or worse comes to worse it’s just text. But the acting is so good, I just can’t believe both are one and the same, and while outwardly they’re kind and whatever, inwardly they’re insanely annoyed, Regardless of my rant, or rather compliment honestly because only a great author can do this, I seriously, seriously love the book.
