There didn’t feel like as much story and subplot in this one compared to others in the series. Not necessarily a ton of filler chapters, but perhaps interesting scenes that just dragged on a bit too long too many times. However the story that is present is a pretty good one.
You’ll probably want to skip right past the 20 min character sheet chapters, where you’ll miss nothing for the story. Fortunately these chapters are self contained and can be cleanly skipped by moving to the next chapter.
The main characters also focus hours of this book talking through every perk and skill offered in painful detail, even for those that are ultimately not chosen. I listened through all of it and can say confidently nearly all of it can be skipped over without affecting your overall understanding of the story. Just try to stop where the final perk or skill is finally chosen and you’ll have everything you need to move on.
