I really didn’t think I would grow into this novel— the structure being all “read” correspondences. This seemed to keep me on edge for the first quarter of the novel. I didn’t know whether to like Sybil or not. There was something off putting about the letters that felt like entrapment. I learned to LOVE Sybil and all her correspondents. It’s just inspirational to pause and re-think how we keep communicate with one another today— all this texting and social media just doesn’t seem to give us the breathing that Sy I’ll old fashion “corresponding” does—-yet there’s can be pitfalls in the creation of emotional distance too. Kudos to Virginia Evans! Where can I get a list of the novels your characters share and discuss? I might just have to re-read (or in this case re-listen). 5 stars!!
