I have been enjoying this author’s audiobooks, but this one will be a DNF for me. The FMC narrator has a voice and diction that is decidely unsexy. It’s prim, prudish, older lady, clipped tone that at first I understood as perhaps trying to be reflective of a wealthy, older FMC. But the FMC as a character is young, messy, and bratty. The dissonance there was too jarring. There was also little variation when the narrator did the MMC voice. So dueling, arguing, pinched nasal voice grannies did not make for a sexy listen. This may be one that is better in book form, and the FMC narrator is obviously very skilled, but this particular story with her voice was a miss.
