REWARD: Experience the range of Jeff Hayes and the amazing story writing of Matt Dinniman. It is a masterpiece that I could only be jealous of. The MC Carl is such a great mix of the inspirational unbreakable human spirit with the humanity that we all discover in ourselves as we feel for others and their conflicts. I don’t know how Matt wrote the personality of a cat and gave Princess Donut a voice, but it feels all too real and exactly how I imagined a cat would sound and act like if they could speak with us. These characters are so well written, it feels as though they exist beyond what they are in this story. The divide created from Matt Dinniman from other artists and authors is a chasm that shows off Matt and his expertise and divine storytelling. Dungeon Crawler Carl deserves to be immortalized as one of the Greatest fiction works of art for its storytelling. This is the only story so far that I would say would rival The One Piece by Eiichiro Oda in terms of storytelling.
The performance performed by Jeff Hays is fantastic by all rights. I can’t believe how perfect Jeff delivers and I can’t imagine the work behind getting each of these lines to feel so authentic. Not only does Jeff show that his range and his talent, but his extreme diligence and pride in his work. The voices are so well done with each character feels like themselves without references to other pop culture icons. I mean, sometimes Carl can sound like Kronk, but the humanization of Carl is what separates the voice from being another Kronk-like voice to being Carl. Jeff’s voice acting should warrant him a star on Hollywood and the ability to see him in other works of art much later in life.
Needless to say, this book is a must read/listen. I will be binging this series and waiting in excitement. I hope this book gets the recognition it deserves.
