Jeff Hays definitely makes book one worth listening to. (Some spoilers)
I thought it strange that the main character was so isolated for so long but he had a good reason for it so it was fine, even interesting. By the time book 2 started he found companions. From here on it’s clear that RinoZ has little clue about how people socialize. Also, the main character spends all his time bragging, to the point that when there should be some real danger, it doesn’t feel like much of a problem. He also over uses his catch phrases. He sounds like someone who just wants to talk about himself without considering whether people are interested or just politely looking for a way out. This is just boring, to the point I’m not finishing book 2 or starting book 3.
