- I went through this listen much more quickly than I thought I would, even listening at work which I normally don’t allow myself to do!
I found myself drawn into the story almost against my will. Put a prepper with 2 buddies and an ex-wife together in a remote location and add the end of the world…and you have the makings for an explosive environment! I enjoyed the direction the author took with the story. He could have gone several ways and the path he took was one I enjoyed reading. There were many moments where I expected things to go in a certain direction and instead they went another. I can’t relate any of them without giving away some of the story but know that it is a good listen and worth a credit.
My single criticism is that the ending seemed a little abrupt and not enough loose ends were tied but there was enough for a decent ending…it just wasn’t great.
I liked the narration that Kevin Pierce gave. He captured the voices nicely and didn’t try for the female characters, which I was grateful for! You knew who was speaking at all times without him reaching for female voices. I particularly enjoyed his voice as Tom and the general way he narrated the story.
I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.
