Not impressed, made it to ‘book 4’ before I gave up. Very direct move-by-move writing, lacking character and plot development, poor pacing (really… 24 hours after a bomb the US is practically devoid of people?). Seems more like a well done book outline/draft than an actual published book. Also borders between YA and adult, but does neither well.
The narrator is also very predictable; he emphasized 2 words per sentence, whether or not they really needed emphasis. Perhaps if the writing was more interesting the narration would have had more to work with. His teen age son voice is cringe.
