The title of my review is pretty much what the reader who recommended this to me said when I told him I didn’t like it that much. It got a little better toward the end, and I’ll probably check out the next book—but I don’t have high hopes. I’ve read several books where the main character gets sucked into a game like this, and I haven’t been a big fan of any of them.
The narrator threw me at first, and for the first few minutes I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but Jeff Hays is actually great with all of his voices. If anything saves the series, it’ll be his narration.
