So, I am hard pressed to review this. I guess, most importantly, will I get boon 4? Yes.
I got this 3 pack as a potential read and at first listened to it night in case I fell asleep, until it got to #1 in my queue. I hope I am not the only who be who does this…
The first book has the standard arc of world building and the whole I am an ant thing. Narrator is obviously one of the best, so don’t worry about that, very entertaining. Get past the initial litrpg/ant world building, it is standard/good.
Second book, just gets better. Things are established and they build on the Ant colony, which to be honest adds the best characters and interactions (some good humans in the third are good too)
Third book, just adds to the first two of getting better with story and character development (of everyone that isn’t the MC)
Here is what lost me… the end of the third book, the MC was obviously there to save the day and win (it was well written and I think his tactic was great writing)…. What lost me was when the enemy was about to express their human nature and tell him their name, he pulled his more often than not arrogant thing about “her name was____”
To me the MC was developing:uncovering a clearly major plot point and was like nah I am an ant now.
Like most Litrpg the story is sound and the world developing is interesting, but the story is written like an mmorpg junkie
