An OK story but the demonic Grover voice of the MC’s sentient weapon gets annoying. The book isn’t great. It gets smarmy and cheesy at times. Everything goes too easy for the MC. He gets super powers, a perfect girlfriend, perfect parents, perfect friends, all the money he could ever need. No challenges or hardships that mean anything. I do enjoy Jessica Threet’s voice though. I feel bad only giving the performance 3 stars but that Grover almost did me in.
