This book follows the story of a family coping with life in a post apocalyptic (EMP attack) world. Maybe this isn’t your favorite genre, but I bet you will LOVE this series anyway! This whole story thus far is realistic and great. It’s very PG in terms of romance, which may be a bit unrealistic, and the roles that people play are rather stereotypical, both of which seem a bit out of date; however, this COULD be a simple reaction to the reality they face- a world with constant threats. I find the additional aggressiveness of wildlife intriguing. The author’s creativity in creating drama is also engaging. Having said that, the human responses to trauma, fear, loss and more are not minimized. The author takes time to explore his character’s thoughts and coping strategies before jumping to the next chase. This is what makes the story great; that and the incredible narration! Highly recommended!
