I love Travis Baldree, so I was in my comfort zone. He did an excellent job, as always.

As for the book, it’s not DCC! I’m glad that Matt D was able to bring an entirely different feel to Operation Bounce House so the two aren’t muddled in my brain. While it’s not as outwardly violent as DCC, I feel that it’s somehow even darker… in a depressing way. The characters face some very real-life problems and it’s not sugar coated.
The book very much has a small town/street kids vibe that any 80s or 90s kids can relate to.
…plus, battle droids and stuff.

p.s. The theme song for the last few chapters of this book should be that Offspring song The Kids Aren’t Alright.
