If you would make a list of your favorite Alpha Males….let’s say, Highlanders, MC bikers, Military Men, FBI agents, I dunno maybe Inked-out tough guys….well, just put Korum the powerful Krinar at the top of that list. This is the second installment in the series and I really loved it.
I loved seeing the growth in the relationship between Mia and Korum. Korum is hot, intelligent and so romantic and tender with Mia, but the big problem is that well, he has taken her away from her life to be with him…no questions asked. This is not negotiable and it absolutely showcases Korum’s domineering, possessive and territorial side when it comes to Mia. Mia is compelled into this alien/human relationship, yes by force, but also through….dare I say it…love.
The aspects that fascinated me in this book was how the reader is immersed in this Krinar society and it just gets more interesting along the wayt! Mia is taken to live with Korum in Lenkarda (one of the K’s largest settlements on earth). Mia settles in and is finding her way through exposure to domestic technology (OMG!! Where can I get one of those “intelligent” homes??), advanced research in her field, Krinar political structure, and she gets to know other humans who are in a similar alien/human relationship, as her own. (By the way, I loved the Krinar wedding they attended).
Mia really comes alive in this book. She is stronger and even though she falls in love with Korum, she is not afraid to speak her mind and does communicate her struggle in their relationship where Korum has all of the power. I also loved the softening of Korum. We learn more about his thoughts, motivations, background and his irrevocable, passionate love for Mia. The loves making scenes are plentiful and are more emotionally connected as compared to the sex scenes in the first book (which were super hot as well). I think this is reflective of how their romance is deepening and growing. Their sex life is definitely off-the-hook, out-of-this-world type of amazing.
There is a suspenseful conspiracy that pushes the plot forward and is another exciting component. What I have mentioned is only the tip of the iceberg, there are so many wonderful details in this book that will leave you sitting back enjoying every riveting moment.
Narrator: Kitty Hendrix was fine as a narrator. I have to say that I didn’t pay much attention as I was simply too immersed in the story itself. That’s a good thing!!
