The first parts of the books is over explaining everything. The prologue was a good tease at what to come in then the first chapter I was left a bit empty. Our MC running away from home and we told about it instead of experiencing it. His overall journey I felt distant and uninterested. HOWEVER, when Wren showed up, man I VERY interested. Her storyline was fantastic and really made me care what she was going through. But the main story did not. Now once climax comes through it did feel epic but I do feel like the journey to there was lacking especially in the beginning. Which made the story feel sluggish. HOWEVER, again, that epilogue definitely peaked my interest.
