Loved how they tell their story of love along with the challenges they faced. The love story is pretty wonderful and all you’d ever want to be able to achieve as a couple. So I loved that part of the book. I found Ann’s perspective to be quite enjoyable and I think her parts were my favorite. Perhaps it was the narrator but when she came on, I seemed even more intrigued. Maybe it’s the difference in language, but I liked it.
I learned quite a bit from the book as well! I don’t know a ton of chemistry, but the way he would explain it, even I could understand what he meant. Very impressive his articulation of the subject.
The book really takes you through all the stages his life and how his work affected it. How incredible his/her experiences were! They really took a good approach to investigating the unknown.
I think the secret psychedelic group that would meet up to test new ones is pretty neat. It’s cool to think of a group of highly intelligent minds partaking in these “drugs”. The conversations had to be deep. I bet it was a wonderful time.
Oddly enough this book reminds me at how far most of us are from the simplest of things in life. Throughout the book he enjoys learning instruments and playing music. Also reading and going on hikes often. Exploring new territories where ever he could! Reminds me that we are so absorbed into new technology that we forget how enjoyable life can be at a different pace. A pace set outside of profit. I digress. The life of Alex and Ann(or at least their book characters) was a perfect read/listen and I look forward to reading their second book!
