Truly a “thoughtful” book. The Correspondent is a real treat for diehard readers, especially older ones because the references are 20th century authors. Ms. Evan’s characters are relatable and sympathetic, but not maudlin. Two friends recommended this book to me, one even mailed me a copy. The actors make a big difference, they bring it to life.
