The narration is very good, even with Hays hamming it up to extreme levels.
The first two books in the series were good, but by the third everyone is too overpowered and there is absolutely no sense of peril. The ham factor takes on a logarithmic progression, and I completely stopped caring what happened to any of the main characters.
