This one started off interesting enough with the usual exploration and jokes. But the later half of the book was just quite dragged on. The events happening were just repetitive and not interesting enough. It just felt like the author was dragging us through each step of the conflicts while there wasn’t much actually happening. Massive conflicts tend to be like this, it is hard to make them interesting and the more they drag on, the duller they can get. Also random character introductions that just feel pulled out of nowhere. And no real indication of what to look forward to in the next books. The priest Bane is like the best character at this point. Never thought I would think that when he was first introduced in Book 1. But overall, this book is kind of just a let down. Without the great narration I don’t think I could have finished this book.
