I’ve been waiting for Mr. Rhett Darlington! This is book four in the Vancouver Tridents Series and is a friends to lovers trope. I’m absolutely swooning over this series! Evie’s just finished her special ed degree and finds herself needing to stay at her brother Kai’s place… except there’s a tiny, furry problem, Ruthie, the stray pup she rescued. With Kai’s place not being pet friendly, Rhett, Kai’s best friend and teammate, offering up his spare bedroom. Evie has had a crush on Rhett for a long time. Rhett is an absolute sweetheart, and Evie has a kind of innocence to her. The unconditional support Rhett showed Evie was beautiful, and seeing her realize her goals and dreams made for a thoughtful and lovely feel good read.
Lena Lee and Alexander Neal narrated as Evie and Rhett. Their voices really matched these characters and made them feel like real people, which made the story all the more enticing.
