This story was an overall bore. It was recommended by a few members of Jenna’s Book Club, so I didn’t preview it. Now I think it’s being recommended largely because readers are rooting for an underdog author. I quickly looked forward to the audiobook being over and that’s never a good sign. What’s more, listening to Jane Oppenheimer’s lisp is entirely frustrating. I won’t listen to another book where she’s listed as a narrator. Her role is thankfully very small, so give it a go if you must. Not recommended.
