While the performance and characters are still wonderful, the one-note setting really holds this book back. The tangled setting is meant to be confusing to the characters and listeners but I found that I couldn’t stay grounded in the story when I could never really figure out where they were, or even care too it’s all very similar.
The book does shine when it focuses on its characters growth.
