This audiobook is just as described, short and sweet(ish) with a little bit of steam.
It ticks a couple of boxes: older guy and younger woman, stranded together, enemies to lovers (sort of they don’t hit it off at first) and steamy encounters with a stranger.
Most of the story around was about Layla. Some of her back story and her internal mussing as she wanders around the countryside on her walk. And I will admit I did find myself slightly frustrated with Layla at times. We do get some of Stuart’s thoughts after they meet. His thoughts were just enough to give you a feel for his character. I would have preferred to have some of the earlier parts with his pov to get to know him better.
The steamy stuff was well steamy but not overly so and is on the shorter side. The story is an HFN with no epilogue and just a mention of plans to meet up again in the future.
Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it and perhaps listen to it again.
