I wanted to love this book. Jennifer Hartmann has a clear plot in the books I have read of here’s thus far;
Tragedy, trauma, PTSD, and self loathing.
To a high degree, I can deal with these things as I have and still experience these. However, she takes self loathing to an extreme level, it’s overdone and infuriating.

This book has way too many references to Mario, the song “Somewhere over the rainbow”, and the dreams these characters dream. As well as the many, many times she calls Brant “brother”, then states “he’s not my brother”.

This book along with “Someone else’s ocean” are not my favorites. I’ve read these two back to back, and I’ll have to take a break from this authors books.
