“Never underestimate a man willing to wait forever for the woman he loves.”
Jennifer… Mrs. Hartmann… Chapter 2?! You couldn’t have waited a little bit longer before breaking my heart?! MY GOD.
Reading the synopsis did NOT prepare me for the emotional damage I would experience throughout this book!
I don’t want to give anything away, but, my heart physically aches for these characters and what they went through, together and individually.
The story of Brant and June is tragedy after tragedy, with glimpses of what could be, sprinkled in-between.
An ugly beginning, growing into an emotionally confusing middle, with an epic ending.
“All I’ve wanted to do is protect her from these feelings. These confusing fucking feelings.”
Jennifer Hartmann is SO good at creating deep connections within her characters, that it’s hard not to be able to find something relatable in everyone she brings to life. She’s the queen of forbidden romance. She knows exactly how to write the perfect slow-burn mix of longing, heartache, and angst that’ll punch you in the gut every damn time!
“June claimed me in a way that could ultimately be defined by a single word: Inevitable.”
