I am deep into this genre. Struggling to continue. Spoilers ahead. And note I’m not finished, some things might not be true later, but I cant finish.
-Every young person in these books is either a rape victim, or secretly a violent criminal and actually an adult.
-Every character is a complete psychopath. Every time they kill or do violence it, the only emotions they feel about it are: justified, content. The author goes a long way into rationalizing the characters using maximum violence and everyone around them being super cool with it.
-A massive countrywide drone attack and people are kind of just going on with their lives. America is under attack, no military response, no law enforcement response. Not even the news like “AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK TAKE SHELTER” like the main characters go and get Taco Bell while drones are gunning down people all around them.
-Drones have limitless fuel and ammo. Using million dollar missiles on a motel? The amount of drones fuel and ammo to do the attack in the stories would be unthinkable. literally millions and millions of missiles.
-DHS agents decide they’re going to go Rambo and kill some criminals while drones are flying around killing people. Just doesn’t make sense.
-Im on the chapters introducing Rock and it’s such a poorly written fan fiction. “Then he goes to her hotel and, what’s this? oh she gave him the wrong hotel number but he’ll just meet this woman and have dinner with her and she’s totally into it but she doesn’t have red hair so it can’t be the person he was supposed to meet. Anyways he falls for this random stranger and they hook up, and whoops, it IS the famous actress that I loathe WHAT? HOW?
It’s just too much.
