Second in series (To Love a Psycho), must be read in order. Professor/student. Forbidden relationship. Age gap. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings. Mild cliffhanger as the series continues.
Months have passed since a serial killer was caught in Ryston, too close for comfort for Aaron, and as the summer winds down he maintains a situationship with fellow student Taylor but Professor Kenny Lyons is all he still thinks about. The new term is starting and Kenny is still trying to keep Aaron at arms length, but it is becoming more and more impossible when he is asked to consult on another possible serial killer in the area.
Beyond the building relationship between Aaron and Kenny which is still filled with lust, obsession, and a dark passionate connection they share, this series is really circling around the Howell’s and how their crimes and secrets have affected those around them, and not just their son Aaron. Honest communication is still a struggle between Aaron and Kenny, but both men have realized their deep commitment to keep the other in their life, knowing that everything around them may burn in the process.
Piers Ryman continues the series narration and thank goodness. He has become a favorite of mine with his deep growly voice, the way he emphasizes words, and his vivid acting brings across all sorts of emotions for the characters. Lush.
