For context, I just finished book three, and it was so good! Book one (this one) is a slow build and truth be told, was a bit too slow for my adhd brain. HOWEVER, it’s so worth it!! The story keeps building and snowballing as the series progresses, and the character development is superb. The plot development, though slow in book one and part of book two, is also very good. There is a lot of satire and comedy in these books, and I’ve busted up laughing a few times while in public, which has been amusing.
The narration alone is a good enough reason to listen, especially with the comedy, but the story is truly coming along so well and I can’t wait to finish the series. (I’ll try to update this review when I’m finished!)
