I was not ready for how much I was going to love this. I expected some dungeon chaos, a few laughs, maybe a weird monster or two. What I did not expect was to be completely obsessed. Like, already-on-book-two-and-proud levels of obsessed!
The humor? Chef’s kiss.
The action? Unhinged in the best way.
The cat? Donut is a national treasure.
The audiobook narrator deserves a raise and a crown. Every single character came to life, and my brain movie was so vivid, I swear I could help produce the actual film version. (Hollywood, call me. I’ve got casting ideas and snack suggestions!) This NEEDS to be a movie, or better yet, a full-blown series. With merch. And theme music. And Donut plushies.
Dungeon Crawler Carl surprised the heck out of me in all the best ways. It’s hilarious, smart, fast-paced, and somehow manages to have heart in the middle of absolute mayhem. I’m fully in. And if you need me, I’ll be deep in book two, dodging traps and cheering for my favorite dungeon duo. 🎧🐾💥
