I believe J. S. Morin is a phenomenal science fiction writer, from his diverse and complex character and world/galaxy building to his understanding and clever manipulation of the written word. This, along with the hundreds of hours of his other Black Ocean series (plural), not to mention the hundreds of hours of other series (again, plural) he has dreamed up and so eloquently shared with us. I would characterize The Black Ocean series as such: imagine if the offspring of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy & the entire Star Trek franchise has a baby with the offspring of Star Wars & Spaceballs.
