The first Prepper book was better. My issue was that G-man’s background story was just boring. I don’t care if he saved Martino in Syria, and if Abrams wanted to share the story, he didn’t have to spend 1/2 the book talking about it. My other complaint was that it seemed like he made up the Tech Exec Terrorist plot as he wrote the story. I thought the book was about prepping, not trying to recover some bratty college kid. These plot hole Band-Aids are a common problem with all these dystopian SHTF prepping novels. And finally,..Kevin Pierce is the absolute worst narrator. I can’t tolerate this guy’s constipated “Wilford Brinkley” sinus congestion voice. Absolute torture listening to this guy’s dull monotone voice for hours on end, and yet every author seems to enlist this same guy.
