I absolutely loved these characters! A pirate’s life for me! The world was brought to life beautifully and I felt I was standing on deck and in the taverns with them, shoulder to shoulder, feeling the press of the situation, the frustrations of politics.
The writing style drew me in but the plot kept me engaged. A lot of that credit also goes to the narrator. She lends all her talents to the appropriate intensity and vulnerability of all the characters.
There was never not a time where I wished I wasn’t at work or needing to do something else. I wanted to be back with these characters and finding out what happens next.
I was thoroughly mad when it was over! The cliffhanger sensation had me in the grip of FOMO and needed the next book right away…
And so I did…
