If you had suggested a book called Dungeon Crawler Carl to me even last year I would’ve said “…eh doesn’t seem like it’d be my speed.” As a lover of video games and immersive worlds did this hit the nail on the head. I loved every moment of this book, I couldn’t put it down. I’m glad I’m reading this series so late, because I can just go pick up the next book. Carl and Donut are a hilarious duo that balance each other so fluidly. This book brings back the nostalgia of RPG games when I was a kid and I couldn’t have been happier to find it. Now it’s giving me an itch I’m dying to scratch to find a game just like this. Wow, my favorite book of the year so far!
