There are a lot of things I would like to say about this story and I could go into great depth pulling it apart. It is awful. The story-line is incredibly predictable and childish. The main character is profoundly unlikable and his pretentious attempts at being honorable and having a code only make him seem self important. He is a shameless Mary Sue and everyone loves him and wants him and he is just too edgy for life. His dumb drooling over every woman but being just too good to accept any of their advances just came off as trite and cringy.
The one thing I really wanted to say with this review, though, was in the very dim hope that the author reads this. Handguns take magazines not clips. I am no gun expert but I have never seen a clip go into a handgun and I don’t think most people have. Now mind you… You might be saying “goodness this nerd is over here criticizing my book for using the wrong gun word” which is fine and I actually can forgive most books/movies for this oversight but if you are going to have a main character who is a self declared “handgun expert” then maybe take the time to learn what you are talking about. I don’t know much about guns and I know this is a massive pet peeve for anyone who has ever held a gun in their life. It was like nails on a chalkboard for the entire book from a character I already despised. It just screams “Tell me you don’t know anything about guns without telling me.”
