Ok, not the greatest book or narration but still good enough to burn a credit on. The story proceeds quickly with a strong back fill of why humanity is in such ruin. The character development is well done. You care about each character and the author leverages this against you later on in the series. Attachments come with a cost. The story picks up decades after a small group of humans escapes the invasion of Earth. They have a new settlement and are struggling with limited resources. The story has some issues that the listener will pick up on but for the most part can shrug off as the author does try to correct these problems later on with some story patch work. Over all, this was an ok start to an ok story with good characters development, an interesting story, and a good helping of action.
