The MMC is dark, we know that and that is why we are here. The darkness of his actions and the darkness of the story make it impossible to ignore the cheesy dialogue and insufferable side characters. I had to skip between almost entire chapters due to how much I rolled my eyes. The pace is unnaturally quick, and that’s coming from someone who also enjoys shorter romance novels. There are not many moments of real sexual tension between the MMC and FMC. If I could boil it down to one word i’d say it felt “artificial”. The attraction, the dialogue, all of the characters everything felt absolutely artificial.
