This series has truly been something special. My only critique of this final book is the pacing — a lot of major events (subjective) were packed in, which caused the story to speed up significantly or rely on time jumps. In contrast to the previous three books, which offered a more careful and immersive exploration of the world, relationships, and character interactions, this one felt more rushed. The earlier installments unfolded over the course of a few months, while this fourth book spans months, even years. As a result, it left me wanting more and feeling slightly unsatisfied.
That said, despite the shift in pace, the story never lost its magic. I’m deeply grateful to Eileen Glass for sharing her artistry with us. Joel Leslie also did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life with depth and personality. I truly hope there’s more to come.
