Book reads ike a Bumper Sticker, But Longer
This book feels like it was written by someone who really loves slogans and hates thinking too hard. Every character talks like they’re quoting something off a Facebook post, and the story doesn’t go much deeper than “us vs. them.”
It’s very pro-isolation, anti-woke, and has a weird pride in being closed off from the rest of the world. There are homophobic undertones that come off as mean-spirited, not thoughtful or clever. The big problems in the book are super basic—like someone took a complicated issue and boiled it down to something you’d see on a T-shirt.
If you like books that challenge you or make you think, this isn’t it. But if you just want something that repeats the same ideas over and over, real loud and real proud, this book is for you.
