Looks like I found another addition to my top five reads of 2025. I can truly say this story held my attention and never lost its momentum.
After McKenzie‘s mom passed and letters start suddenly appearing, I had so many theories as to what was happening, yet I was absolutely wrong on each one. This story built so much tension and definitely kept my attention as McKenzie digs into her investigation after reading her mom‘s diary entries. The twists and turns that this story took was simply unfathomable! Being an avid reader, I also love when characters in the book are novelist themselves. That was a key piece of this entire mystery as it unfolded. Needless to say, there was nothing that could’ve prepared me for the magnitude of these mind blowing twists.
I listen to the audiobook along with the e-book, and this was some of the best narration that I’ve heard. Having six narrators in this book made it an epic experience, as each narrator had their own unique way of bringing life to the characters they represented. I will absolutely be reading more from Iliana Xander!
